Prof. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Jha bags International Young Scientist Award


Kathmandu, Prof. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Jha has won one more prestigious award, the International Young Scientist Award, from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

This is the second time that Dr. Jha won this international award.Earlier, he had won the international young scientist award in 2010. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) on Tuesday announced the prestigious award.

His application for the research fund for International Young Scientists on the project titled Matricellular CCNI/Cyr61 as a Regulator of Pancreatic Carcinogenesis in the Sonic Hedgehog Signaling Pathway and the use of Resveratrol for Cancer was selected by the NSFC.

The prize bags RMB 200,000 Yuan per project over one year or RMB 400,000 Yuan per project over two years. The project will start from January, 2016. Besides, the Government of Nepal had recently awarded Dr. Jha with the National Youth Talent Award 2072.

Prof. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Jha

Dr. Jha has already won Shaanxi 100 Talent Award. He had finished his post doc in the year 2013 from Xian Jiaotong University and works as professor at Xian Medical University, China. A permanent resident of Dhanusha district, Nepal, Dr. Jha has been residing in China for the past 18 years.
